Welcome to Potton Town

Potton is a thriving town of approximately 6,000 residents in the heart of rural Bedfordshire. The Town has an historic Georgian Market Square which is the heart of the Town. There are many busy local shops in and around the Square including a hair salon, fish and chip shop, estate agents, florist, a barbers, a gift shop, beauty salons, food store, post office, Chinese takeaway, butcher’s shop, a traditional hardware store, pharmacy, bakery, a public house, dental surgery, a small supermarket, hotel, newsagent and a veterinary surgery as well as several other small businesses. In the centre stands the Clock House where the Library is located watched over by the Town Clock. There are also many small businesses situated in and around the town providing local employment.

Potton is a friendly town with strong artistic community. There are many theatre groups and choirs, sports clubs, community groups and social organisations for both young and old.

The Town celebrates every Christmas with the Big Switch-on of the Christmas Lights and the Market Square is a dazzle of lights for the festive season.

St Mary’s Church in Hatley Road dates back to 1094AD.  There is also a Baptist Church in Horslow Street and a Salvation Army Chapel in Chapel Street.

Potton Town Council meets six times a year and consists of fifteen Councillors.

The Town Council nominates four representative trustees on the board of Potton Consolidated Charity.
